Went to a game store today and got myself a very pleasant surprise I was told by the staff that they were taking preorders for the Aliens Vs Predator game. Of course the first question was is it Uncut & Unaltered. Which they assured me that it was even showing me and email stating the fact.
Next question was is there different packages.
They showed me the 3 different ways they are getting the game.
1. Stand alone game.
2. Stand alone with artbook and I think that was all.
3. The Hunter Pack which comes with a Fullsize Facehugger, Artbook, 3D Picture, Marines Patch and of course the game.
So I preordered a Hunter Pack.
Now this game was first banned but a big debate after that soon followed and now it is getting an MA15+ rating the highest rating we have in Australia at the moment but don't be fooled by this rating as it is meant to be the most gruesome, gore filled, bloodfest known to the gaming world so far.
So now the flood gates have been left slightly ajar there is hope for Australia that more of this will trickle through.
So all I can say now is I've preordered my copy so now it's time for all of us Adults to go out and buy the first real Adult game let into Australia.
Rebellion has told IncGamers that there will be no cuts made to Aliens vs Predator.
Following the recent news that Aliens vs Predator will not see a release in Germany, we asked Tim Jones, the head of art and design at Rebellion, whether or not the company considered cuts for any regions and how important the mature content was to the gameplay.
"There's one version and it'll be up to the ratings boards in each territory as to whether to pass the game or not," Jones told us.
Aliens vs Predator"We and SEGA decided not to release the game in Germany as we would've had to make significant cuts to the game which would have harmed the gameplay experience," said Jones. "We've tried hard to ensure that the game is as close to the content of the movies as possible. The Aliens and Predator movies are very much intended for adults and as such we have some pretty violent moments in there."
It's not necessarily looking good for Australian gamers, then, considering the notoriously stringest ratings system over there. We suspect fans will be happy to know that the game is taking its cues from the Alien and Predator movies, though, rather than the Alien vs Predator movies.
