WIN: The Calibur11 MLG Vault for the Xbox 360 Slim

What is the MLG Vault

The MLG Vault is an External Case that has been specifically engineered for the Xbox 360 Slim. It's designed for those people that want to have a custom cool looking Xbox 360 slim without voiding the warranty. It consists of one chassis, body panels, and locking mechanisms. Unique features include controller cradle, apocalypse android-head, and an exclusive digi-cam finish.

The mask eyes light up in 8 different modes in the traditional MLG colors red & blue. LED features solid color modes, pulse modes, and fading modes. With Vault on your 360 it will not suffer from heat exhaustion.

Features

  • Docking and Cradling - The first feature of the MLG Vault Case you may notice is the Docking/Cradle for your Xbox 360 Controller or Gaming Headset. The Docking/Cradle is a smart idea and I liked it so much that I have now started to place my controller in it all the time. With the Docking/Cradle you'll now know your 360 controller and headset are out of the way from the kids or friends stepping on them.

  • Stability & Footing - The chassis not only looks cool but snaps the vault securely in place around the Xbox 360 slim providing that much needed stability. The chassis also has neoprene on the base to keep your Xbox 360 Slim in its original place so no one can bump it off the counter, including the cat!

  • Custom Name Plates - Calibur11 offer's custom made Name Plates that fit onto the lower and upper plates of the case. You could place your name or almost what ever you want put in them which is really awesome. The custom Name Plates give everyone the ability to come up with a unique Name for their 360.

  • Case Modding The Easy Way! - Most people are so afraid of taking their gaming consoles apart in an attempt to customize them and no wonder. Most of the time if your not technically minded after all the effort you could easily find you have messed up something and you no longer have a warranty. This MLG Vault case, and the many others Calibur11 have just like it, allow anyone to modify the look and feel of their own console while also protecting it from scratching. Did I mention this thing does not void your warranty?

First Impressions

When I first received the MLG Vault I was amazed at how well it was packaged and how good the box itself was designed. It looks pretty cool as you open it up, and you can already see that it's been very well made. They have definitely taken the time and effort to manufacture packaging that gamers like to see when they receive an item.

After opening the box up and taking everything out you will have four pieces that you will have to put together with the supplied screws. They have made the case easy for anyone to place on their xbox 360 slim. It takes little effort and all you will need is a Phillips Screwdriver and about 5 mins of your time and you are golden. That's right, just 5 minutes and you will have a new custom case installed onto your xbox 360 slim.

The pieces are well built and don't feel cheaply made at all. The chassis is well made and locks into place with the two side pieces to hold the xbox 360 slim upright. With the MLG Vault you can rest assured your Xbox 360 won't be tipping over while you're gaming since the feet have been well placed, and continue to hold it stable. The case also increases airflow underneath your 360 as it is lifted off the ground while in the chassis.

This particular model that I am reviewing has an apocalypse head that lights up on the side. It also has LED Eyes in Red & Blue with 8 different modes to choose from. The power for LEDs come from a plug/switch that plugs into the back of your xbox 360 slim. Watch the video that embedded in this article to see the very cool looking LED lights.

On a side note, I just had a few friends come over while I was gaming and I put my controller down on the docking/cradle station and then that's when they noticed it. They were like "what is that?". So I told them what it was and showed them what it can do. They seemed very impressed with it.

Colors: There are many colors to choose from. For this review we chose the DigiCamo Color. Check out some of the other colors which are available here.

Final Score:

  • Build Quality (5/5) - Overall the Case quality is excellent. The case pieces do not feel cheap and everything fits perfectly when installing. The case only takes around 5 minutes to install and is very impressive when finished. I have to comment on how well they produced this case and how user friendly they made it for everyone.

  • Contents (5/5) - Everything that you need to install is in the box . The installation process is easy and painless with well written instructions and comes packaged as you can see in the pics.

  • Ease of Use (5/5) - This case can be put together by almost all ages. A very straight forward installation process. The LED Lights have 8 different modes to choose and can be changed at anytime with the flick of a switch.

  • Overall (5/5) - Very easy to install and a very cool looking case mod. The case keeps your things well organized and will keep your xbox 360 slim running cooler while protects the outer shell. The case just looks amazing in person. There are a few different cases to choose from $59.95 to $89.99 and can be purchased from the official website over at Calibur11.

  • Verdict (5/5) - Highly Recommended! I would have to say that they are well made, cool looking and will also keep hold of your controller or gaming headset when not in use. The case is stable support for it standing upright and helping increase airflow underneath at the same time and protecting your 360 from getting scratched up or dented.

Added Note: The thing I think I would like to see most would be a charge station built in. This way you could place your controller on the docking/cradle area and have it charge. Now that would be uber sick. Maybe this is something we will see in the future from these guys.
