The latest Call of Duty 5 updates and patches have now been released.

The new maps are out but we also have something else to be happy about, the 3rd addition of updates have been released and should take effect when you fire up the game even if you did not DL the new maps. The following is a list of promised fixes.

Call of Duty 5 Screenshot 5123Items Addressed

  • All rifle grenades fired during the first 15 seconds of Search & Destroy will be duds to prevent griefing in that game mode. (No Noob tube spawn kills on S&D, you can see all the sad tubers above :( )

  • Improvements have been made to the global spawn system – players should never spawn within the line of sight of an enemy. (Spawned into a bullet lately?)

  • Players who equip the Bouncing Betty and melee teammates in Hardcore game modes are now credited with a team kill penalty. (The one I have been waiting for!)

  • Players are now deducted 200 points for team killing the bomb planter/defuser in Hardcore Search & Destroy.(Not sure if this will actually denture those that like to do this)

  • Martyrdom no longer causes “direct impact” grenade deaths in Hardcore modes.(Before it was possible for a martardom grenade to fly out your butt when you got knifed and the grenade would hit the enemy in the head and kill him, very funny to see happen)

  • Players ranked higher than the maximum allowed in the Boot Camp playlist are no longer able to play in games with lower ranked friends in that playlist.

  • “Bayonet jumping” has been disabled.

  • Further improvements have been made to geographical matchmaking.

  • The “New” icon clears when a player has viewed an unlocked weapon (X360 only) (ya that was pretty annoying).

  • Many zombies were raised from the dead. (can never go wrong with more zombies)
